I might have a chance to grab a 2022 XLT Hybrid, but I also have a 2024 Maverick on order. It’s supposed to go into production soon since I ordered it last summer. I’m not in a big rush, but I’m curious…
What’s the difference between a 2022 and a 2024 in terms of quality? Are the 2024 models going to be more reliable because they’ve fixed issues from earlier years? Or is it basically the same truck? I know about small updates like the rear window and code entry, but reliability is my main concern.
2024 should be more reliable. They’ve had time to fix a few of the early issues, but I wouldn’t pay anything crazy over market value just because it’s newer.
@Zenith
I’ve got a 2022 AWD with 4K tow and 11,000 miles. The highest offer I’ve gotten recently is $26,000. At $31,500, they’re definitely looking for a big profit.

I traded mine for $29,500 three weeks ago. My friend was offered $26,500 for the same setup but in Indiana. I traded at a high-volume dealership in Illinois.

That’s a solid trade value. Was yours an XLT or a Lariat? And why did you trade it in—any issues?
2023 XLT AWD with LUX and BAP packages. I traded it for an F-150 because I needed more capability. Plus, I’ve got a 2024 hybrid Maverick on the way with the same options.
Honestly, the 2022 and 2024 are mostly the same aside from fixing recalls like the side-curtain airbag. The Maverick’s only been out for a few years, so we’ll need another few years before we know how reliable they are long-term.
