I’ve posted a few times on here, but now find myself in a situation where I could choose to pivot away from the Maverick Hybrid. I wanted to ask y’all the following questions for those who own the Hybrid:
Has the 2024 Hybrid had any massive issues such as recalls?
Are you happy with your purchase?
If you had to get another truck, what would it be?
What are some things I should consider before buying this vehicle?
I chose the hybrid because I wanted to optimize MPG while retaining the truck look, but I feel like I’ve been seeing issues pop up with it?
I got 2024 Lariat Hybrid with price protection as a delayed order.
Recalls have just been software so far. Anyone can correct me if I’m wrong.
I’m happy with it. It’s the perfect size for me. I enjoy the gas mileage. It isn’t a powerful engine, but I enjoy doing small mods on it that I’ve never done with any other vehicle.
A step up in size, but I’d go with the Ridgeline. I had a 2018 Ridgeline while waiting on my Maverick. It was a smooth ride. Just a tad larger than I was used to driving. Tacomas seem to have gotten bigger, and they are pricey new and used.
If you’ve never had a Ford (I didn’t until now), go into it knowing the interior isn’t anything great. Some folks really hate the quality of interior plastics.
@Nico
I’m probably trading my 2017 Ridgeline toward a Maverick, transmission issues at 81,000. The EB Maverick is more fun to drive, and I like the ergonomics better. I will miss the trunk though.

Yeah, I thought the trunk was the bomb. No hate towards the Ridgeline at all. It was just slightly too big for what I prefer.
Have about 3000 miles on my 24. Other than a taillight recall, it’s been great. Small truck that functions well in the city and gets great mileage. If I got a different truck, it’d likely be a Tacoma for the 4x4 aspects. I miss trails and beach driving.
I have almost 2k on my 24 XLT hybrid. Averaging almost 42 mpg. No major issues so far other than once tripping the low power mode, which fixed itself the next time I ran the truck. Love it.
First and most important, DO NOT pay more than MSRP for it. They’re not that rare anymore. I’ve had my 24 Maverick hybrid for two weeks and 1,500 miles now. Averaging 37.3 combined mpg while cruising the interstate @70-75 mph. It’s got plenty of giddyup, I’ve no complaints about acceleration.
Have 12k miles so far. Zero issues. Great truck. Plenty of room for me and my kids (10–17 years old). Gets 40 mpg, and I bought it fully loaded for $30k. The only thing I might have reconsidered was getting the EcoBoost AWD for winter conditions.
Have a 24 XLT Hybrid. Not the smoothest experience coming from Japanese cars. Water was leaking into the cabin through the HVAC system into the passenger side footwell. Dealer fixed it, but beware. Also had brake sensitivity issues that the dealer adjusted. Overall, it’s a decent vehicle for the price.
I paid $27k for my 24 XLT hybrid with a sunroof. 10k miles in, I have no regrets. I hate that all the “innovative” storage in the doors is the wrong size to actually hold anything. Get a spray-in bed liner; the bed scratches very easily.
