2025 Ford Maverick... is it worth the price jump?

Looking at the 2025 Ford Maverick, and I’m impressed by the updates, especially the new Lobo trim and the larger touchscreen. The hybrid now offers AWD and can tow up to 4000 lbs with the Tow package, which seems awesome. But with prices starting at nearly $28K, I’m wondering if it’s still the great value it used to be. Anyone test drive one yet? Is the ride still stiff? And how’s the new tech?

I got to test drive the Lobo trim last weekend! It’s super fun to drive—feels more like a sporty car than a truck. The paddle shifters are a cool touch.

Nice! Did the lower suspension affect the ride quality? I’ve heard the Maverick can be pretty stiff.

@Jem
It’s still firm but not as bouncy as the older trims. The sporty setup handles corners way better.

I have the 2023 model, and the hybrid’s mpg is great. If they kept that for 2025, I’d definitely recommend it. I’m averaging over 40 mpg in the city.

The 2025 hybrid is rated the same—42 mpg city, 33 highway. Does yours ever feel underpowered?

@Jordan
Only on steep hills or when fully loaded. Otherwise, it’s fine for everyday driving.

That 13.2-inch touchscreen looks awesome, but is it a big improvement over the old 8-inch one?

It’s bigger and easier to use, especially with wireless Apple CarPlay. If you use navigation or stream music a lot, it’s worth it.

@Ari
Good to know! I hate fumbling with smaller screens for navigation.

Anyone tried the towing with the hybrid AWD? Does it really handle 4000 lbs well?

Haven’t towed with it yet, but the hybrid AWD setup is definitely more capable than before. Adding the Tow package helps a lot.

@Ray
That’s good to hear. The Santa Cruz can tow more, but it doesn’t have the trailer brake controller the Maverick does.

For anyone on the fence, the XLT trim is the sweet spot. You get decent features without spending a ton. The Lobo’s fun, but not necessary unless you want the sporty feel.

What’s included in the XLT? Enough creature comforts for longer trips?

@Yan
Yup, you get cruise control, power mirrors, and the option for the Tow package. It’s a good balance of price and features.
