@Wren
Yeah, it only lets about two-thirds of a card go in, so it won’t fall through.

It’s a card slot. I use it for my ID when going through secure areas so I don’t have to fumble with my wallet.
I did that one time when I had to enter and exit a military base for a week. Super convenient!
Ford says it’s a business card holder. Super practical, right?

Really? I thought it was just for parking garage tickets or toll booth slips. It’s in other Ford models too, not just the Maverick.
@Jesse
It’s also just a placeholder where there would be buttons on EcoBoost versions.

True, but hey, better than a blank spot with no use.

Exactly!
@Jesse
Yep, they call it a business card slot in some other Ford cars too.

I wonder what Mazda’s business card slot would look like.
I use mine for my work ID.

Perfect place to stash your Pokémon cards!
Pretty sure only hybrids have that slot (I’ve got an EcoBoost with more buttons there). Don’t think it’s for anything specific.

My Tremor’s got all buttons in that spot too.

My hybrid XLS has buttons there too, no slot.

It’s meant for parking garage tickets!
On mine, that spot has two buttons: one for Auto Start-Stop and one for Hill Descent. I think only EcoBoosts get those.

Yeah, it’s a hybrid thing. Basically a cardholder. EcoBoosts get more specific features in that space.

The hybrid shuts off automatically, so there’s no need for a button. And the hill assist is always charging the battery.
