Hey everyone, I am planning to put a deposit down on a new Lobo, but I am really concerned about whether I will be able to comfortably transport my Saint Bernard. He goes with me almost everywhere it’s socially acceptable, so it’s really important that he has enough space. If he can ride in the back of the cab, that is fine as long as there’s enough room. If not, I have been thinking about getting a truck cap, but I’m worried about his safety in the bed in case of an accident.
It might sound silly to some, but if my dog can’t regularly ride with me, it would be a dealbreaker. Unfortunately, I don’t know anyone with a Maverick to check it out for myself.
The back is for the dogs, and that is fine by me. This time, I am planning to get a cargo protector for them. I didn’t for my Forester, and I regret it so much drool and fur.
What’s his length and weight? My dog is 60 lbs and fits just fine, but St. Bernards can get pretty big. No one can give you a definite answer without measurements, but I think it would be tough for any dog not to fit in the backseat.
He is around 130 lbs right now and might gain another 15-30 lbs. He is about 3 feet long, but he should only fill out from here and not grow any taller or longer.
He is definitely not that long, and since he has a lean build, he should be able to move around just fine. I mentioned earlier that he’s about 130 lbs now and may gain up to 30 more, though I doubt it probably closer to 15, especially since I am getting him fixed in the spring. All four of my dogs got really sick back in July, and I honestly think it stunted his growth because he lost almost 20 lbs.
