Geez dude, glad it wasn’t worse.

Yeah, me too, considering the size of that damn rock. I’m glad it didn’t bash up my hood. I really love this truck.
If that’s a Lariat, make sure you get the right windshield…

It’s the XLT. Wasn’t a fan of the Lariat for the 2022s. What’s special about that windshield though?

The Lariat has the acoustic, electrically heated windshield… I had to replace mine after a rock strike about six months ago.
@Thayer
What did it cost?

It was a Ford OEM windshield, the acoustic, electrically heated one for the Lariat. Safelite quoted me $1400 for a generic replacement. My independent installer got the original one for $900.
Reminder that calling a local glass company (not Safelite) is often cheaper than your deductible. I got mine replaced for $275.

Safelite wanted $950, found a local guy for $440. Got it fixed, by the way.
Edit: Where did you get your glass that cheap?
@San
My collision shop called their supplier at Auto Glass Now and had them replace it while my Maverick was in for another issue. Safelite wanted around $800 for third-party glass, which was under my deductible.

You got the Maverick windshield replaced for $275? I find that hard to believe.
I just replaced one on a 15-year-old Prius, and it cost me $313 after tax—not even a newer car with sensors and cameras.
@Grayden
Why not? Glass is glass. It’s not worth $800 like Safelite claims. Maybe we’re in different states, or I got a discount. Syncing sensors and cameras doesn’t need expensive tools.

A discount? Yeah, like 75% off lol. Come on, you must work for the glass company!
@Grayden
I don’t work for a glass company. I just avoid paying Safelite, who uses multiple subcontractors.

No one’s getting it done for $275, even at triple that price. Safelite or not, unless you’ve got a major discount.
@Grayden
Believe what you want. I’m sticking with what I got, and I think Safelite’s just overpriced.

Safelite isn’t a scam; their prices are just high. But no reputable shop is offering that low of a price.
You forgot the 5Ds of dodgeball.

Yeah, I dipped when I should have ducked.
