I’ve got a 2024 Lariat Hybrid, and two days ago I used the auto drive feature on the highway. After I exited, I hit the ‘X’ button to cancel it, but the lane assist won’t turn off! The speed is stuck over on the right side of the display, and it keeps trying to stop me from turning during normal driving. I’ve tried reactivating and deactivating the auto driving feature, but no luck. It’s so annoying for everyday use. Attached is a photo of what my screen looks like.
Try pressing the button at the end of the left stalk. That should turn it off.

You sound like a stalker… lol.
If you use your turn signal, the lane assist temporarily disables itself.

I bet you don’t use your turn signal, do you?

Must be running low on blinker fluid!
@Noor
Always seems to be the case, huh?
Not sure about the 2024s, but on mine, there’s a button at the end of the blinker arm to toggle it on and off.
Did you check the manual?

Manual? What’s that?
Ford Maverick - Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Centering Explained
Skip to around 4:25—they explain how to turn everything off.
Your cruise control is probably still on, which splits the display like that. Turn off the cruise control button and your speed will go back to the center. If you press the button on your steering wheel while cruise is engaged, the lane assist toggles between steering and non-steering modes.
Lane assist usually only works when cruise control is on. Try hitting the ‘X’ button below the cruise control button on the steering wheel, and the lane indicator should disappear, putting the MPH back in the center.
@Keegan
That was true for mine initially (2024 Lariat), but after a recent software update at the dealership, the lane assist works all the time—even without cruise control. It’s less aggressive but still corrects your position and forces you to use blinkers to change lanes.
@Keegan
Mine has lane assist even without cruise control too.
On my 2022, there are two lane assist systems. One is tied to cruise control and works well, but the other kicks in when you drift out of the lane, yanking the wheel back—sometimes for no reason. That second one is turned off using the button on the steering wheel stalk. I’ve sworn off using it.
Lane assist is just a reminder to use your blinkers if you don’t want the truck annoying you.
I keep lane assist on all the time, and it doesn’t bother me because I use my turn signals. Problem solved!
