Driving mode when raining

Do you guys change driving mode when it’s raining? Any pros and cons on doing it? I have a tremor 24

Sport mode. Traction off. Bald tires. Always

I have the front wheel drive hybrid. I have found that either Eco mode or the regular mode work best in most scenarios including rain. The slippery mode on the truck is good but I find it most effective in extreme rain or icy conditions. Otherwise I keep it on eco mode

@Adi
Slippery mode is dangerous for me. It really changes the braking profile and I’m constantly surprised by it braking less than I expect because I don’t use it regularly. I like that it allows you to coast more though without regen when letting off the throttle. I wish I could get the coasting of slippery mode for fuel efficiency without changing the brake response.

Just yesterday I was trying out slippery mode again and it seemed to me like it also activated the physical brakes before the regen maxed out? I never saw the regen dial go all the way to max, and I noticed that the bars on the screen that shows you electric/hybrid/charge power that the bar turned white before regen hit its limit.

Slip mode changes brakes as part of the process

Yes I said that

You sound confused. It in fact does activate before regen.

You seem confused. You’ve not offered anything I didn’t already say. What is your point?

I don’t think you really need to change it. The AWD system works well in the rain in normal mode.

The only thing I found different about the slippery mode is that it ensures you don’t accelerate too fast to avoid slipping. Maybe the AWD function is slightly more ‘engaged’. Not much of a difference but helps with peace of mind

Been driving for 20 years. Even older cars without all these fancy modes work fine. As long as you got good tires and don’t drive it like a go-kart.

Do you also have sand mode? I have found that works well in loose dirt and I like it better than Mud/Ruts for most dirt. I haven’t really had hard enough rain to want to change modes.

Nope. No reason to, especially with AWD.

D on the spinny thing

Your tremor will be fine in normal. Until it gets to massive amounts of rain or icy I wouldn’t worry about the drive modes. Obviously use your own judgement.

Slippery mode is overkill IMO for rain. I think part of the idea is that it applies very little regen braking while off the throttle, whereas the regen from just being off the throttle in normal or ECO could hypothetically cause you to lose traction on a sheet of ice, or could make a difference in a corner in the snow/ice. But I don’t think those modes apply enough braking force without actually braking to make any real difference unless you’re on a truly slippery surface.

I like ECO mode for the rain because it makes the throttle less sensitive and I like to just use the passive regen from being off throttle to adjust my speed. But normal mode is more than sufficient and so far I’ve never accidentally spun the tires in the rain from too much throttle or engaged traction control from that.

Yes, my wife has a Honda HR-V and I like eco mode. Too bad Tremor doesn’t have eco mode
