Earthquake? Nope, just a Tremor

Curious…

How unlikely is it to find the exact truck you want, optioned out perfectly, just down the street from your house—without a ridiculous markup? You test drive it, walk away, and then return four days later to purchase it?

Build date: 06/24. Purchased: 08/07/24.

I’ve heard about crazy wait times, but I haven’t seen another Terrain Maverick in my area…

I love my Tremor, even though it’s a bit overpriced. I have the same color, and people are always complimenting it!

I somehow avoided the dealer price hike, probably because I traded in my 12-year-old car. I was checking out a Range Rover in the back of the lot priced at $57k, but the guy walked around and pointed at $87k. I just said, ‘Yeah, I’ll stick with the Maverick.’

@Finley
You definitely dodged a bullet. I assume you mean Range Rover and not Rolls Royce?

I think they meant Ranger Raptor.

Ah, that makes more sense, but $87k for a Ranger? That’s crazy!

@Tate
That’s the normal price around here in the Northwest. You don’t even wanna know what the Raptor R is going for. :sweat_smile:

That’s wild!

Hugging my rusty but trusty 1998 Ranger 4x4 with 250k miles tight right now.

@Tate
I miss my old '89 XLT 2WD 5-speed.

I’ve worked on too many Range Rovers to ever buy one. They’re great if you’ve got the money to maintain them.

As for Rolls Royce, let’s just say I don’t come from a royal family. :metal:

@Finley
Haha, true! If you were royalty, you wouldn’t care about maintenance costs.

Nothing beats a brand-new Range Rover, though, as long as it’s someone else’s problem after the lease!

I wish I could’ve just walked out to the lot and picked mine up. The wait was the longest I’ve ever had to deal with.

So, do you just walk around the lot a lot? And why make employees wait just as long as customers? I’m curious why the wait times are so crazy.

@Finley
Yeah, I take walks around the lot sometimes to see what we have. I work at a Ford dealership in the parts department.

I had a tough time confirming the Tremor hood decals after I removed them to install PPF. Thankfully, one of the best Ford parts people I know ordered them correctly. :muscle:

@Finley
I can’t wait to take mine off. I’m waiting for them to wear out, but I’m not a big fan of the hood decals. The door ones don’t bother me, but I wasn’t expecting any decals when mine arrived.

It’s funny you say that. I’ve had mine in the back of my truck for a week and keep going back and forth about putting them on. The door decals are at least low enough not to bother me.

@Finley
The truck I saw online didn’t have any decals, which is what convinced me to buy it. I wasn’t expecting any to be there either, especially since we haven’t had many Maverick Tremors at my dealership. It hurt enough to take the brand-new tires off, so I’m not ready to remove anything else just yet.

@Torrance
I get it, totally. As soon as I got mine, I went all out with upgrades—tuner, tonneau cover, window tint, dash mount panel, fog lights, even a train horn! :joy:

What tires did you end up going with?

I drove 2.5 hours to a dealership. The truck was still in transit, but I called to confirm no markups. Put a deposit down over the phone and picked it up two weeks later when it arrived.
