Hi everyone! I’m considering purchasing a Ford Maverick and would greatly appreciate your honest reviews on the vehicle. I’m particularly interested in hearing about its performance, fuel efficiency, comfort, and any notable features or issues you’ve encountered. Your insights will be invaluable in helping me make an informed decision. Looking to buy at the end of the year because I’ve heard that’s when prices are the lowest. Thanks in advance for sharing your experiences!
2023 Eco XLT - 30k miles
Pros:
- Tows my boat
- Averaging 30 mpg
- Handled the snow well
- Bed is big enough for landscaping and home projects
Cons:
- Entertainment system is glitchy
- Door handles could be better
- More recalls than I’d like
Ford truck good. Ford dealership bad.
2024 Lariat EcoBoost with Hot Pepper Red paint. Feels like a proper truck, not just a car. I average 20 mpg. Highly recommend the Lariat trim with CoPilot 360; it’s a game changer.
Small truck that can haul and gets 43 mpg. Reliability is a question mark though—I’ve had electrical gremlins and warranty work done on the audio system and windows.
2024 Hybrid XL - 4,000 miles
Pros:
- Peppy performance
- 40-45 mpg average
- Comfortable for long drives
- Unibody construction makes it very responsive
Cons:
- Dial gear shift takes getting used to
2022 XLT AWD FX4 w/ Tow Package. Drives like a go-kart and is super fun. It’s surprisingly capable for its size. My main gripe is the lack of push-button start on the XLT trim.
2023 Hybrid XL with 22k miles. Fantastic truck. My only complaint is the rattling dashboard, but overall it’s been a great purchase.
2024 Hybrid XLT Lux with CoPilot 360. Almost 5k miles in, zero issues. Fuel economy is amazing (40-60 mpg depending on driving style). Heated seats and steering wheel are fantastic for winter.
Only gripe is the entertainment system, but it’s a big enough issue for me to mention.
I’ve had mine for two years and love it. It has quirks, but nothing major. Here’s a link to my two-year review on YouTube: https://youtu.be/2L2XM21EO6w
2023 Lariat Hybrid ~12k miles
Pros:
- Fuel economy: 35-40 mpg
- Roomy interior with clever storage solutions
- Comfortable seating
Cons:
- No over-the-air updates
- Cheap plastic interior prone to scratches
2024 Lariat Hybrid
Pros:
- Great gas mileage
- Decent in snow (with proper tires)
- Comfortable and well-equipped
Cons:
- Cheap interior materials
- Expensive windshield prone to chipping
2023 XLT Hybrid with 22k miles. Gets 44 mpg in warm months, 38 mpg in colder ones. Great for hauling kayaks and home projects. Lux package’s heated seats and steering wheel are lifesavers in winter.
