Just called my dealer to get an update on my XLT Cactus Grey Hybrid (ordered 8/30 in San Diego). He told me that no hybrids have shipped yet because Ford just finished getting the MPG ratings tested and approved. Apparently, this could add a few extra weeks to the build time.
He also mentioned that all Maverick Hybrids are sold out now, which was news to me. Glad I got my order in before the cutoff!
Looks like the waiting game continues. Patience is a virtue, right?
I don’t think Ford really wants to sell these hybrids. I feel like they’re only building just enough to meet fleet MPG requirements and doing it grudgingly.

Could be, who knows. I just want my truck already—my current car is barely holding on!
I ordered the same, Hybrid XLT in Cactus Grey, back in July. My dealership called and said they’re not producing any more hybrids until 2023 and told me to switch to the 2.0L EcoBoost if I want it by January or February.
@Flynt
If you ordered in July, you’re in the queue, and your truck will be built. The dealership is wrong. They’re not taking any more hybrid orders, but hybrids are still being produced. In fact, starting in March or April, Ford plans to increase hybrid production to 60% of Maverick builds. If you haven’t gotten a build date yet, it should come soon—depending on your options.

How are people getting build dates? I’ve been waiting almost a year and haven’t heard anything.
If you have your sales and dealer codes, you can contact Ford directly to get an update. Your dealer should also have this information. However, if your dealer didn’t submit your order for COVP (Customer Order Verification Program), it may have been canceled. Dealers had a deadline earlier this year to submit those, and unverified orders were automatically canceled. Best of luck.

This is what my dealer said when I asked for an update on 5/22/2023:
“Good to hear back from you. I just checked with a manager on your build. As of today, it does not have a build date, but it does not show any problems with the build. We at the dealership have no way of knowing when it will be scheduled. You will get an email from Ford when a build date is scheduled. I truly hope it won’t be much longer. I know how you feel waiting—it took 11 months for Ford to build my Bronco. If you have other questions, or if there is anything I can do for you, please let me know.”
