Hyundai Prepares to Launch Its First Electric Minivan: What We Know

Hyundai is set to unveil its first electric minivan, combining their EV expertise with practicality. Here’s what we know so far and why this could be a game-changer in the EV space.

These vans are so cool. I wish we got more of them in the US. I’d love something like the Ford Transit Custom here.

I rented a Citroen C4 Spacetourer in the UK, and it was amazing. Not a van, but its design and versatility were fantastic.

@Layne
I have one! It’s a shame these are being discontinued in favor of SUVs. Even the Renault Scenic has become an SUV now. Such a missed opportunity.

Doesn’t look like it’s coming to America. Disappointing!

No, this is a minivan, not a classic Eddie Murphy movie. :wink:

Seems like good foreign EVs always come to the US years later, if at all, and they’re way more expensive by the time they do.

Minivans don’t sell well in North America. People prefer less practical but ‘cooler’ three-row SUVs like the EV9 instead.

True, but the ID.Buzz and other minivans are still interesting options for families. They just need better pricing and range to compete with SUVs like the EV9.

The VW ID.Buzz is neat but way too expensive for what it offers. We need more affordable EVs like this Hyundai to really make an impact.

I love the look of the Buzz but the low range is a dealbreaker for me. I’m going for a Honda Prologue instead.

My favorite car was a Dodge minivan. Not flashy but so practical for my lifestyle. I’d buy this Hyundai EV minivan in a heartbeat.

Yeah, Dodge should have gone for a $60,000 AWD EV minivan instead of focusing on muscle cars. My wife loved her Caravan.

I’ve seen disabled drivers mention how important minivans are for wheelchair access. I hope EV minivans can fill this need too.

Adapting EVs for wheelchair accessibility might be tricky due to the battery placement in skateboard platforms, but it’s definitely worth exploring.

I really want an EV minivan, and Hyundai/Kia seem to be the leaders in this space now. I’d take this over the EV9.

Finally! The Staria’s futuristic design always made it seem like it should have been an EV from the start. The gas-powered version never did it justice.

I hope we get this in the US!
