What tonneau cover and bed rack setup is that?

It’s a BAKFlip tonneau cover and the Elevate rack setup. I also added a Yakima SkinnyWarrior basket on top of the rack.
Tonneau Cover: BAKFlip G2
Elevate Rack: Elevate Rack System
Cargo Basket: Yakima SkinnyWarrior Long
@Rin
How far does the tonneau open with that rack?

Took some careful alignment, but it opens fully up to the back window.

Good to know! I have a BAKFlip with Elevate rails and was hesitant about adding the rack in case it blocked the tonneau.

Same question here! I’m planning on a cover and racks soon. Thanks in advance!

Looks similar to my setup! I’ve got a TruXedo Elevate Rack and BAK Revolver X4s Tonneau Cover.
Is this setup for work? Just wondering about the context.

I see some C-stands, so I’m guessing media production. I use my truck for the same kind of work.

If it’s for work, wouldn’t a covered cargo van be better for daily use? I’d be worried about rain with that cardboard box.
@Sai
But then you wouldn’t be able to do ‘truck things’! /s
@Sai
TL;DR: Had a van for 8 years but shifted to this setup after COVID changed my work flow.
I’m a freelance commercial photographer and only use my own equipment occasionally, maybe 3-4 times a month. The gear I need changes with each job, and this time I needed almost everything. The cardboard box is a seamless backdrop, and it’s wrapped in plastic, so rain wouldn’t be a huge issue. I usually don’t transport these myself, but I’ve thought about a tube setup for extra protection on the off chance I have to carry them in the rain here in LA.
Since I fly out a lot for work and my van was sitting idle for months, keeping the battery charged became a hassle, and I didn’t want to keep paying the extra insurance.
@Sai
I’ve got a SofTopper on mine for rain protection. I use my truck for a mix of work, fishing, and camping, so it fits my lifestyle better than a van. If I need a lot of equipment, I’ll just rent a grip truck and only bring my cameras.
@Haze
Same here! I’ll rent a truck for jobs that need more gear than I can carry. But on smaller jobs, I can save by using my own setup and billing for my equipment, or just making sure I have everything I need without budget worries.
@Haze
That’s a good alternative.
Though for full-time use, a van is 100% more secure and ideal if you have a second vehicle for personal use.
