Hello friends. I just got a 2023 Ford Maverick as my first car, and I absolutely love it, it’s super cool. However, I have got a bit of an issue. I’m into retro tech and prefer listening to music on my iPod and Walkmans (I’m Gen Z, judge all you want, lol). The problem is, my Maverick doesn’t have an AUX input, so I can’t connect my iPod directly. When I try using a USB-C to AUX cable or adapter, it says something like unrecognized device. Does anyone know of any solutions? A lot of the music I listen to isn’t available on Spotify, and I’d love to be able to play it in the car.
I bought a 3.5 mm Bluetooth transmitter from Amazon, and it works perfectly for that purpose. You can connect it to your Ford, allowing you to plug in any device with a headphone jack, which will automatically connect to your Ford and play music.
I agree with this. It is a great addition to my BMW that we purchased from Five Below.
This is honestly the most elegant solution.
I am the thumb drive guy. It’s super easy, and the entertainment interface does an excellent job of organizing your tracks.
Is it not functional to simply insert the iPod’s USB cable into the device?
The majority of automobiles no longer support the Apple-only protocol. However, some people will regard it like a flash drive and view it as a mass storage device.
Alternatively, you might copy it on a CD or flash drive and utilize that. However, sync3’s functionality is a little hit or miss.
Where do you put the cd?
One of those radio transmitter ones would have to be purchased.
You get it? I still have my original Sony Discman from the late '90s. Talk about retro. I also have that adapter, which transitioned from the time before cars had CD players to when they stopped including them again.
How does that help OP’s situation if you’re suggesting they add a burned CD step in the process instead of simply using FM transmission from their original device?
