Loving my hybrid Maverick … ask me anything!

Got my Maverick Hybrid and I’m thrilled with it. Feel free to ask questions if you’re considering one or just curious about my experience.

Awesome, enjoy it! :ok_hand::muscle:

Is the hybrid the base engine? How does it handle at highway speeds, like 65 to 85 mph? And how’s the ride on normal roads—not too bumpy?

Yes, the hybrid was the base engine when I got it. Now, you can pick between hybrid and EcoBoost at no extra cost. Mine is the Hybrid Lariat with the Lux package. On the highway, it feels like a small SUV, not bumpy at all. My son drove it from NW Indiana to Niagara Falls (535 miles) on one tank of gas, and it still showed 24 miles to empty when he arrived. He said cruising at 75 mph felt smooth, and he didn’t even realize he was going that fast. Let me know if you’ve got more questions!

@Fallon
I’m pretty much sold on the hybrid. Back orders are a pain, though. I hope things improve as the economy shifts. The hybrid looks like a solid option, but I know the EcoBoost might have more power for long highway drives. I’m just waiting for these to hit the dealership again. Hoping I can trade in my Accord for one.

@Chen
I’m glad to hear that! You’ll love it. Have you checked CarMax or Vroom for a slightly used one? Might be worth a look since order banks are a bit unpredictable right now. My two sons and five coworkers ordered Mavericks back in September, and so far, only one has gotten an update about their truck being built.

@Fallon
Yeah, I’ve looked into used ones, but they’re holding their value really well. I think the demand might cool down in a few months, kind of like how the PlayStation 5 craze lasted years. I’ve been eyeing the Hyundai Santa Fe and Toyota options too, but the Maverick is what I keep coming back to. I love the idea of having a small truck to haul my motorcycle, lumber, and maybe even sleep in the back if needed.

@Chen
I test-drove a Santa Fe, but it didn’t feel like a truck to me. A coworker with a Tacoma says he prefers how the Maverick rides, even though the Tacoma sits higher. It really comes down to how you plan to use it. The Maverick’s hybrid engine is a game-changer for fuel efficiency, and the bed is perfect for smaller loads.

@Fallon
Yeah, it’s the combination of utility and affordability that makes the Maverick stand out. The hybrid engine is unique for a truck, and having the bed in the back makes it feel like a proper pickup. I can see myself hauling stuff, loading my bike, and using it as a family vehicle. Trucks have really evolved!

@Chen
Exactly, it’s a great mix of utility and practicality. For family use, it depends on the size of the family, but it works well for most needs. I’m 6 feet tall and 195 pounds, and I fit comfortably in every seat. The bed has a 1,500 lb payload and 54 inches of length, so it handles most tasks just fine. I even traded in my 2018 F-150 XLT for this, and I don’t regret it. The hybrid is FWD, which was a concern for me since I’m used to AWD, but it’s performed surprisingly well. Just be patient, and you’ll find one. Sometimes canceled orders pop up without dealer markups.

@Fallon
Thanks for sharing! Reading about owner experiences really helps. I also like the DIY mods Ford is promoting. It’s nice to have a truck that can adapt to your needs. I’ve done okay with FWD in the Northeast, so I think I’ll be fine. Plus, I’m excited about the idea of finally having a truck for all my hauling needs. No more strapping lumber to the roof of my Accord!

@Chen
I hear you! I’m in NW Indiana, and we know snow here too. This winter’s been mild, though, so I haven’t had much chance to test it in deep snow. I’m sure you’ll be happy with how it handles, especially with all the features the hybrid offers.

@Fallon
I’ve heard it does well in snow, even for a FWD. What tires are you running on it?
