Very happy with my new Walnut logs
I know the guy who owns that house, too, so there really is such a thing as two loads! Earlier today, his friend showed me pictures of something taken from a different angle.
I thought about it a lot, but after doing some research, I decided to go for it and estimated the weight to be right at capacity. All the roads home were clear with no major bumps, and the drive felt solid overall. However, I definitely wouldn’t push it by adding more weight.
I am wondering why you rely on straps to secure things instead of just keeping the tailgate up and locked. I see this a lot here, but it doesn’t take much for a strap to snap. With something like this, you’re probably exceeding the tailgate cable’s weight limit anyway.
I am not sure if the tailgate could handle that weight. With a heavy-duty liner, I probably would’ve been fine with just a strap over the top, which I did use. I only added extra straps because I had them on hand.
I don’t think you could accelerate hard enough to cause the logs to slide backwards with how much they weigh.
More than rational. But perhaps don’t push it all the time.
