Hoping someone here knows more than me, but I’m in the group that was supposed to get their Maverick this week… now just waiting around. This backup camera issue—do these things usually get fixed quickly, or are we looking at months? First-time Ford owner here, so IDK what to expect.
If they’ve stopped all sales, I’d guess they’re working on it fast.

Fast might still mean a few months… this isn’t their newest system, so it’s not a top priority.

Stopping sales isn’t minor though… they’ll have to prioritize.
@Max
Depends how many 2024s are still sitting unsold. Once 2025 recalls kick in, those might take over.

Production of 2025 models just started this month, so there’s likely still a lot of 2024s with this issue. Even a few hundred cars is a big deal financially.
A month would be quick tbh.
I got my Maverick a month ago. What’s the best way to check for recalls?

Go to the NTSB site and enter your VIN. They also mail out notices eventually.
So the camera stops working? Does that mean side mirrors stop too?

No, just the camera. But a failure is still risky—backup cameras are mandatory for a reason.
Don’t hold your breath for a fast fix. Ford has a track record—like when they took 9 months to deal with bad crankshafts and left people waiting until their engines actually blew up before offering a fix.
@Jules
I think they’ll fix it quicker this time. Backup camera failures can lead to serious accidents, so they’ll have to act fast.
Anyone know how Ford tests fixes? Do they try it on all models, or just the newest ones? Feels risky to update right away.
