Sales of Ford’s Maverick Hybrid Pickup Soar 118% from January 2023

The Ford Maverick Hybrid continues to dominate headlines with a reported 118% increase in sales compared to January 2023. This growth comes as production ramps up and dealerships work to meet overwhelming demand for Ford’s compact, fuel-efficient pickup. With its combination of affordability, practicality, and impressive MPG, the Maverick remains a popular choice for buyers seeking a versatile light truck.

Doesn’t this have more to do with higher production? The Maverick’s initial supply was limited due to pandemic delays. I feel like it’s misleading to suggest it’s dominating the market when it’s mostly about inventory catching up.

@Vesper
Probably also because dealers stopped trying to gouge customers with insane markups. People won’t overpay forever.

Exactly. They lowered markups, production increased, and more sales followed. Also curious if ‘sales’ here means ‘delivered vehicles’ or just ‘orders placed.’

I’m glad they’re selling well. I’ve been considering one, but I really wish the hybrid came with AWD.

A hybrid AWD Maverick would sell like crazy. Perfect for city drivers, contractors, and anyone needing light off-road capability.

This isn’t surprising. The demand was always there; the issue was Ford’s production limits.

Glad to see the Maverick getting recognition. It’s one of the best trucks out there for people who don’t need full-size capabilities. It’s practical, fun to drive, and affordable.

They’re selling every single one they make. This increase in ‘sales’ is just reflecting production finally ramping up.

It’s almost like making an affordable, practical, hybrid truck is what people actually want. Who would’ve guessed?

Now they just need to release a fully electric Maverick. That would be amazing.

Ford’s probably focused on wringing every dollar out of the Lightning first before bringing an EV Maverick to market.

Three years later, and there’s still an 18-month wait for these. Ford, please ramp up production even more!

This is more about production increases than demand changes. They’ve always sold every Maverick they made. Articles like this don’t really capture the reality of supply constraints.
