Should I buy a Maverick?

Willing to buy one of the them any thoughts??

I love our XLT Hybrid. The sunroof is tiny and might not have been worth it. We wish we had the sliding rear window. The spray-in bed liner and hitch receiver are must-haves—our suitcases scratch the bed. I love the cross-traffic alerts from CoPilot 360. I wish I had adaptive cruise control, but it wasn’t worth two levels of trim upgrade.

@Anya
Adaptive cruise control with lane assist is amazing for interstate travel, but I agree it’s not worth a whole trim level. The solid back panel does look nice too, though!

@Anya
Is adaptive cruise control only available on the Lariat trim?

Correct.

That’s unfortunate. Seems like they really want people to spring for the Lariat.

@Quincy
I went with the XLT since I don’t drive on congested highways. It wasn’t worth the extra cost for me.

I bought the most basic 2023 hybrid possible, and it’s still nicer than our 2015 CR-V. It’s literally the perfect vehicle for our family of five. Fits everyone just fine for daily driving and trips, and it has just enough truck capability for woodworking and Home Depot runs.

@Tenzin
How’s the legroom in the front and back seats? That’s been one of my main concerns.

My boyfriend is 6’5" and has plenty of legroom in the front without hitting his head on the roof. The back seat is a little tight behind him, but manageable for shorter folks.

Hybrid or Ecoboost depends on your needs. Need to tow more than 2,000 pounds or want AWD? Go Ecoboost. For city driving, the hybrid is amazing.
Trim levels depend on what you consider essential. Some are happy with an XL, while others want a fully-loaded Lariat.

@Oakley
I live in the city, so I’d probably go hybrid since AWD and towing aren’t priorities for me. Thanks for the insight!

The hybrid gets amazing mileage but has been plagued with recalls and electrical issues. The Ecoboost might be more reliable. If you get the Ecoboost, go for AWD, as it improves suspension and handling. Also, consider the trim and packages carefully—CoPilot 360, luxury packages, and FX4 add great functionality depending on your needs.

I’ve owned both the XL Hybrid and XL Ecoboost AWD, and I love them both. The hybrid is great for city driving, while the Ecoboost with AWD is better if you need to tow or deal with winters. The XL trim with CoPilot 360 is a sweet spot for value if you don’t need all the bells and whistles.

I have an XLT Hybrid. FWD is fine if you know how to drive, and AWD isn’t necessary unless you’re dealing with heavy snow. I’d recommend the package with the bed liner and bed power.

I love mine. I use it mostly for commuting but appreciate having the truck bed for when I need it. I went with the Ecoboost AWD because I live in northern Utah and need the traction for winter.

My dad works at Ford, and he says the Maverick Hybrid is one of the best vehicles they make—great fuel economy and reliability. Hope that helps!

I can’t live without adaptive cruise control and lane assist now, so I went with the hybrid Lariat. It’s the most efficient vehicle I’ve ever owned and perfect for my needs. However, if you need AWD or plan to tow more than 2,000 pounds, the Ecoboost is a better choice.

Best vehicle I’ve ever owned. Compact size makes it great for city driving, and the truck bed is surprisingly versatile. I got an XLT Lux with FX4 and added a tonneau cover, window tint, and LED lights—absolutely love it!
