I love my Maverick and want to keep it long-term, but I’m losing faith. It’s a 2024 hybrid with 15K miles, and I’ve had six deep sleep messages so far, with two dead batteries. The most frustrating incident was when the engine wouldn’t kick on even after a jump, leaving me stuck at 10 mph on hybrid battery power.
Luckily, I was at home and could trickle charge the battery. I disconnected and reconnected the negative terminal, and after two days, it started again—though with dashboard alerts. The dealership says the battery is fine and blamed a software issue, with a fix supposedly coming early next year.
In the meantime, what can I do? Should I trickle charge every night? Turn off FordPass? What has worked for others?

I had similar issues, but the recall to update the Battery Control Module (BCM) and a new battery under warranty fixed everything for me.
BCM recall? I thought I had all the recalls done, but maybe not. They’ve refused to replace my battery. Thinking about just paying for a better one myself.
@Mackenzie
Consider a lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) battery. They’re pricier but last much longer, can handle deeper discharges, and have a more consistent voltage curve.

Do you have any recommendations on brands or models?
@Sparrow
Not really. My experience is from solar systems and a motorcycle swap years ago. Just avoid no-name brands; they can be unreliable. Thankfully, LiFePO4 batteries are generally safer than other types.

Be cautious—your vehicle’s charging system may not be designed for LiFePO4 batteries.
I replaced my 12V battery with an AGM one I found on Amazon for $112. Solved my issues completely. Didn’t even bother going to Ford because their batteries are junk.

What’s the process for resetting the system? I just got a new trickle charger and hope it helps with the morning struggles.

What size AGM battery did you buy? I can’t find any in the Group 99R size.
@Ocean
Yeah, it’s slightly taller, but it dropped in without issues. No need for mods, and it’s heavier than the OEM battery, which I take as a good sign.

Does switching to AGM void any warranties? And how hard is it to replace?
