I’ve been checking out the 2023 Ford Maverick and honestly, it seems like a solid choice, especially for the price. The hybrid’s mpg is pretty impressive (37 mpg combined!), but I’ve heard mixed things about the ride comfort and the interior quality. Anyone here own one? Is it worth going for the Tremor package if I’m considering off-road trips? Would love some real-world insights!
I’ve got the base hybrid, and yeah, the mpg is legit! But the ride is definitely on the bumpy side. If you’re doing off-road stuff, the Tremor package sounds like a good call.

What does the Tremor package include? I keep hearing about it, but I’m not sure what makes it special.
@Arlen
It adds stuff like a heavy-duty transmission cooler, better shocks, an inch more ground clearance, and all-terrain tires. Definitely more off-road ready!
@Arlen
Sounds solid. Does it affect the mpg though? Off-road tires usually do, right?
I’ve got the XLT with the optional turbo engine. It’s quick for a small truck, but yeah, don’t expect luxury inside. You can tell Ford kept costs down in the interior.

How quick is it? Like, can it handle highway merging without breaking a sweat?
@Farley
Oh, for sure. It does 0-60 in about 6.4 seconds with the turbo. Plenty fast for merging or passing!
Honestly, if comfort is a big deal for you, you might want to look at the Hyundai Santa Cruz. It’s a bit more refined inside, though it doesn’t have a hybrid option.

Yeah, but doesn’t the Maverick have better towing features? I thought the Santa Cruz lacked the trailer brake controller.
@Finn
You’re right. The Maverick’s better equipped for towing out of the box. If that’s a priority, go with the Ford.
The hybrid is great for city driving, but keep in mind the rear seats are a bit tight, especially if you’re putting in car seats.

Good to know. Is the underseat storage still usable with car seats installed?
@Jonah
Nope, you have to remove the car seats to access it, which is super annoying.
