Thinking of swapping FWD for AWD Hybrid… what would you do?

Snapped this last weekend near Mazama, WA. Chains on the front wheels made all the difference on those icy slopes. My AWD Hybrid should start production this week, so this might be my last winter with FWD.

That’s a great shot! Looks like a postcard.

I’ve got the same setup, taken mine out near Bow, WA a few times. Works great.

Would you go for AWD if you lived in the Yakima-Tri Cities area?

I’m torn between getting a used FWD now or ordering a 2025 AWD Hybrid. Planning to move to Tri Cities in the next year or two.

It depends on how often you’ll be crossing the mountain passes. If you’re not heading up to ski or explore backroads, a good set of winter tires will usually be enough. But if you’re into backcountry trips or driving forest roads, AWD would be worth it.

What kind of chains are those?

Saw this video and thought it might be helpful: https://youtu.be/wturiNEITVU?si=xIxSzMdjr0UsgMdJ

That’s a beautiful picture!

Good tires paired with AWD are perfect for handling snow, especially in hilly or mountainous areas.

Are there any driving reviews out for the ‘25 AWD Hybrid yet? Mine is also in production.

Doubt it—kind of hard to review something that hasn’t been delivered yet.

None so far. The Fast Lane Truck channel has one on order though, so maybe we’ll see something soon.

@Azar
At this rate, I’ll probably get mine before they review it!
