What do you think about the 2025 Maverick? Pricing and features talk…

Ford just revealed the 2025 Maverick. Prices are up, new features are here. Thoughts?

I spent $32k for an XLT FX4 AWD with 4k tow, luxury package, moonroof, and a few extras. Now, the same setup will probably be $40k or more.

Someone’s gotta cover the cost of all those recalls…

@Keir
Yeah, Ford’s trying to cash in while they dominate the small truck market. Poor quality control costs have to come from somewhere.

No one else is even competing. GM, Toyota, Stellantis—they all have small pickups they could bring here but haven’t. Ford got ahead of everyone and now they’re profiting.

@Tan
Why would the others bother? Americans will buy $50k SUVs or $80k full-size trucks because they don’t have other choices.

@Keir
Thanks, future buyers. Appreciate ya!

@Keir
Wait, why do buyers have to pay for recalls? My 2022 FX4 had two recalls, and Ford fixed them for free. They even picked it up from my house and dropped it back off.

They mean Ford eats the recall cost but recoups it by raising prices on new vehicles.

@Tallis
Ohhh, got it. My bad.

And don’t forget dealer markups. You know they’re coming too.

@Tallis
Sure, but Ford’s profits still take a hit. Either their CEO is clueless, or they know what they’re doing and just don’t care.

Yup. It’s a massive jump in price.

Same here. I got one for $30k with shipping, back when some dealers were offering discounts. Feel like I won the lottery.

Buying used still feels like the smarter move.

@Jesse
Really? I’m not sure about that. What about depreciation and maintenance?

Totally. A used Maverick Lariat is mid-$30k, while a new one is $40k+ with fees. It’s only worth buying new during promo interest rates.

An $8k jump in three years? That’s crazy.

Isn’t the new hybrid AWD around $30k?

Nope, the FWD hybrid starts at $27k. AWD costs more.
