Probably because they use LIN to control lights instead of straight power. It’s more than just making a compatible light—it has to communicate with the vehicle computer without causing errors.

The Maverick’s still pretty new, so aftermarket support will likely take time. No need for replacements yet, but we’ll see more as they age.

It does, sort of. The XL/XLT trims use low beams as DRLs, while Lariats have an accent light strip.

Oh, my bad—meant DRLs! Got a Lariat, but kinda silly to leave them out on the XL/XLT trims. Wouldn’t even cost much more to include.

Yeah, saving $10 per car is a lot in manufacturing, but XLs use low beams/signals as DRLs. They also allow switchbacks on turn signals, which the Lariat doesn’t.

Probably about the same cost, but makes the Lariat seem more ‘premium.’ I think Ford could’ve done more with the Lariat, though. My wife loves her Cyber Orange, so it’s worth it!
