It’s like people go out of their way to park next to me… even when I’m far away from everyone.
If you see a Nissan sedan driver on the road, get ready for trouble

Big Altima Energy is definitely real

I used to drive an Altima for almost ten years. The paint was all faded, and my coworkers joked it looked like it had cancer. One time, an old lady reversed into my rear bumper at a parking lot. I told her it was fine and just to be more careful next time. There was just something about driving that car that made me feel a certain kind of power I still miss.
Of course it’s a Nissan…

EVERY. SINGLE. TIME! Also, people really need to learn how to park properly!

My phone took this in ‘wide screen’ or whatever it’s called. But yeah, I’m definitely in the shot.
@Zane
That Maverick parking is perfect. But the one on the yellow line should go back to driver’s ed.
I was parked in the back too. Someone parked right over the line and folded my mirror in… like why are you such a terrible driver you need to do that?
Cars are social animals, they can’t stand being alone for too long.

Sure, but spooning isn’t really for cars.

It’s the herding effect.
When my kids were learning to drive, I taught them to park defensively too.
@Whitney
Now that’s some serious commitment to turning the wheel. They just kept going!
I once had someone park so far over the line that I couldn’t even get into my car. I didn’t know how they managed to park like that without hitting the truck. I went into the store to ask for help, and the guy was just as surprised. After some thinking, I figured I could back out without causing damage, so I just climbed over the center console to get out.
I was pretty mad at the time, but thinking back, maybe the person was really old. I’m glad I didn’t have a confrontation. But still, people need to be more aware of how their careless parking affects others.
@Adair
People just seem oblivious sometimes. I can’t tell you how many times people have almost walked into me at the store even though I give them space. It’s even worse when they’re driving.
I’ve started parking far too. A) for the exercise and B) to avoid all the idiots who don’t mind banging into someone else’s car and then act like they did nothing wrong.
But I’ve noticed even when I park far away, there’s always some troll who finds their way next to me.
I’m thinking about getting special vinyl stickers that peel on and off easily. They’ll say:
Notice of Violation
You have violated Parking Code 0U812, Personal Space Protection Act.
To remove this violation sticker, follow these instructions:
Preparation: Soak a steel wool pad in bleach for an hour.
Removal Process:
• Scrub the sticker in an up-and-down motion, then in circles until it’s gone.
Cleanup:
• To remove any leftover residue, use a fresh dry steel wool pad and scrub firmly.
Please follow these instructions carefully to restore parking order and your vehicle’s paint.
@Harley
Steel wool, lol! Some people would probably do it happily.
