Would you buy a Ford Maverick?

Ford’s Maverick is an intriguing new entry in the compact truck market, with a starting MSRP of $20,000 and a hybrid powertrain offering 40 MPG city. Is this something you’d consider buying, or does it fall short for your needs? Let’s discuss!

An all-electric Maverick would be perfect for those who like the Lightning but want a smaller truck. The hybrid is a good step, though.

Agreed. Even if it’s only $2-3k cheaper than other electrics, it could work well for urban users.

@Zora
Electric trucks are the future, but I’m waiting for Ford to bring back big-body sedans too. Imagine an electric Crown Vic!

No, because I’m eyeing a Lightning next year.

Same here. But the Maverick is great for urban areas where parking a full-size truck is a nightmare.

This truck isn’t for traditional truck buyers. It’s perfect for someone who wants an AWD car or crossover with more utility.

I’ve always wanted a modern Subaru Baja, and Ford nailed it with the Maverick. Ordered mine already!

This truck is perfect for someone like me. I want crossover utility, good gas mileage, and a bed for occasional use. The Maverick hits all the marks.

Same here. I’ve been looking for a truck but didn’t want to settle for a full-size or a pricier midsize option.

I’m holding out for an AWD hybrid version. AWD is essential for snowy drives, and the hybrid would save me money on gas.

The Maverick is at the top of my list for a new vehicle. It’s practical for woodworking projects and perfect as a daily driver.

This is the light-duty pickup I’ve been waiting for. It’s affordable, practical, and doesn’t try to be more than it needs to be.

I would buy it today if it were available!

The Maverick checks all my boxes. Great for city life, occasional projects, and priced well below other trucks. I’ve already placed my order.

How does pricing work when you order in advance?

@Sloane
I signed an out-the-door price sheet with the dealer. They could try to adjust the price later, but I’d walk away if they did.

I’d consider it as a replacement for both my daily driver and my truck. It’s compact, efficient, and still has enough power with the EcoBoost option.

This truck is a game-changer. It’s exactly what I need for occasional hauling and daily driving without the cost or bulk of a full-size truck.

I’d love to see a Maverick Raptor or something similar. A small, sporty truck would be perfect!
