I got the truck a month ago and absolutely love it, but I might have to sell it if I can’t find a solution to this issue.
I work out of town, and my drive home at the end of the week is 2.5 hours on the highway at night. As you know, everyone has mirrors that are as bright as the sun. In my previous car, I could easily adjust the mirrors up when a Ram, Expedition, or any other vehicle passed me to avoid being blinded. Since the Maverick doesn’t have internal mirror adjustments, I am slowly losing my mind rolling down the window every time to adjust them. I tend to leave them in positions that are not very helpful for blind spots or lane changes. Is there any aftermarket solution to fix this?
This was a complete deal breaker for me. My clueless dealer forgot to include CoPilot360 in my order, which I had been waiting on for 15 months. I decided to buy it anyway because I was tired of waiting, and I tried to make it work, but ultimately ended up selling it. The absence of blind spot monitoring was likely the biggest issue. It is crazy that a brand-new car in 2024 lacks such basic features. The cost-cutting is outrageous.
Yes, I did not even see it when I purchased it, and I drove it at night for the first time a few days later. I don’t see why they couldn’t even install the small manual sticks where the mirror attaches to the side pillar of the windshield. I may actually need to sell the truck. Apart from that, it’s a really nice ride, so I am going to test the tint and put up with it.
I completely get what you mean, however I have the power mirrors. I have been curious about the potential negative effects of tinting the driver’s mirror. It’s most likely against the law, but would it work?
In Michigan, you are required to have two rearview mirrors. So if you modify one mirror, you should still be compliant. If you are in a different state, make sure to check the specific requirements there.
I tinted the front side windows to match the rear, which helped reduce glare from both side mirrors. I still need to replace my rearview mirror with an aftermarket auto-dimming one.
As for the original poster, it’s a shame there are no power mirror options. I wasn’t interested in CoPilot360, but I definitely would have paid extra for cruise control and remote mirrors.
