Anyone with a 2022 experiencing bed cap or cover leaks?

I am looking to add a bed cap or tonneau cover to my Maverick. For those who have either, do they leak during heavy rain, or do they stay dry? Which option is better for keeping things in the bed from getting wet?

My tri-fold hasn’t leaked as of yet. Periodically, some water seeps in at the tail gate, but the cover is fine in that regard. All that’s left to do is apply some silicone to the tiny opening in the plastic bed trim directly behind the cab.

Whoever owned my truck before installed the UnderCover Triad hard folding cover, and so far, I haven’t seen any water coming in.

Because of the unibody design, it is almost impossible to prevent leaks at the front right behind the rear cab window. The only designs that won’t leak are those with drain tubes running from that area to holes in the sides of the bed. I have noticed these drain tubes on Ford tonneau covers. This is also why the original truck caps offered as a factory option had that awkward hump design that sealed to the top of the cab.

Most of them leak at least a little bit. If you need waterproof storage, get a van.

My inexpensive Truxedo tonneau cover leaks a bit at the front corners. I have seen suggestions about replacing or adding more weatherstripping to address this issue. For my needs, I don’t mind if it’s not completely watertight; 98% is good enough. The center and sides of the bed stay dry, and only the front corners get wet.

Yes, primarily I simply want to make sure my camping equipment is protected in case I have severe downpours while I am driving.
