Hey everyone, I’m looking for a new car since my 2012 Fusion is breaking down after 10+ years. I was eyeing the Lariat for its adaptive cruise control, but the price is way too high. Thinking of going with the XL, but I’m only seeing them priced at $28k or more. Is there any chance of finding one below MSRP at a dealership? Also, if my credit score is 740+, what kind of APR can I expect?
I got a 2024 XL two weeks ago for the same price you mentioned. I have an 835 credit score, but there wasn’t any wiggle room on the price.

Thanks for letting me know. It’s frustrating how popular this truck is.
Try contacting Long McArthur. They’re known for offering good deals on Mavericks.
I got a 2024 XL Hybrid (the hybrid adds $1,500) for $27.3k, with a 6.6% interest rate and an 800 credit score. This was about four months ago.
You can still find them, but I had to push the dealership to remove $3,500 worth of unnecessary extras they added. I’m loving mine so far—averaging 45 mpg, and I mostly drive on the highway.
Wait until January when dealerships start clearing out 2024s for 2025 models.

Be careful, though. If the new tariff the president-elect mentioned goes into effect, 2025 models could jump in price. Dealers might be less willing to negotiate on 2024s then.
Demand is still high, and there’s often a $500 markup. If you missed out on a 2023 XL at a lower price, it’s tough to find a 2024 under $25k unless it’s used. The potential tariff might make 2025 models even pricier.
Most 2024 XL and XLT models are under a delivery hold due to a recall on the backup camera (for any made before November 8, 2024). Production of 2025 models started November 11th. The only 2024 models available now are Lariats. A fix for the recall isn’t expected until early 2025, so finding a 2024 XL or XLT may be difficult.
@Carter
Yeah, I’ve heard about that.
If that’s the case, you might have better chances of getting a good price once 2025 models hit the lot. For APR, it’ll depend on the interest rates when you’re ready to buy. Hard to predict right now.
@Carter
Where did you hear about the fix being ready in early 2025? My dealer mentioned the stop-sale but hasn’t shared any details. Would love more info if it’s available.

That’s just what people are saying. I’m not sure if it’s official from Ford or just rumors from dealers. I saw it mentioned on the Maverick Truck Club forum.

Yeah, sounds like pure speculation at this point.
I got mine for $25k at MSRP, but it’s the Ecoboost, which might’ve helped. My interest rate was 5.49% through a credit union. This was about five months ago.
I don’t think you’ll find one for under $24k. I got mine at MSRP for $27.5k, but it took a lot of effort to get the dealership to agree to that price.
That’s crazy. My fully loaded 2023 XLT cost about the same as what you’re seeing for an XL.
Try Ganger Ford in Iowa—they take orders at $3k under invoice, but there’s a wait. Long McArthur in Kansas sells XLs off the lot at MSRP.
You can find some slightly under MSRP if you look. Maybe try CarGurus and call around. I didn’t get much room on the price but got $500 more for my trade-in than expected. Ended up just under $30k before taxes and fees for an XL with AWD, 4k tow package, bed extender, bed lock, keypad, and Co-Pilot.
Honestly, getting a 2024 XL under $24k is unlikely unless it’s used and beat up. I got mine for $23.9k out the door, but I had ordered it in 2022 and waited nearly two years. Price protection from a 2023 rollover helped.
For APR, it varies. I have a 720 credit score, and my initial rate was a high 7.9%. I later refinanced with a credit union and brought it down to 5.9%.
