I just got a new work truck and honestly, I don’t know much about it. It’s super quiet sometimes, but then it really pulls when I need it. Comparing it to the other trucks, I noticed my dashboard doesn’t show RPM on the left side but has a green battery gauge that moves when I drive or brake.
Does this mean it’s a hybrid?
Sorry if this sounds dumb; I feel like I’ve been out of the loop with new cars, and this one’s amazing. I might even consider getting one like it for myself!
You can definitely tell it’s a hybrid because of the power gauge on the dash. Instead of an RPM gauge, it shows how much power is going to the engine when you hit the gas. When the needle swings left, it’s showing the power being recaptured by regenerative braking. If you watch it while braking or coasting, it’ll show the energy that’s being stored.
