There is a household plug in the bed on the rear driver’s side. When the Maverick is parked and in accessory mode, where does the plug draw power from? Is it the starter battery or the hybrid battery? I am thinking about tailgate parties and wondering what I can safely plug in without draining the starter battery and needing a jump afterward.
The 12V battery features a voltage monitoring mechanism that will turn off accessory power if it reaches a threshold that threatens starts, unless things had changed in the Ford EE department.
Additionally, a 400W inverter powered by a 12V battery powers the 110V outlets.
Also, that inverter is not pure sine-wave, so some devices might not function well with it. If you switch to accessory mode, it will automatically shut off after a maximum of 45 minutes.
It’s commonly done, but it will mean having an additional meter, which comes with its own monthly minimums and service charges. Will the utility be able to accommodate another service?
This is not going to be any less expensive, in my opinion, than running a separate circuit or sub panel from the main panel directly to the EV charger. Check your local building codes before adding two risers and two weatherheads connected across the roof, I suppose.
I appreciate all of the precise responses. I will give up on my foolish.
