Is the Maverick a good first car?

@Riley
Best advice here. Start with a used beater—it’ll save you a lot of money and stress in the long run. You can always upgrade to a Maverick when you’re ready.

Yes, the Maverick will absolutely suit your needs. It’s small enough to be easy to drive but still has enough utility for most tasks.

It’s easy to drive and has plenty of bed space for most people. It’s practical and functional but not particularly exciting to drive. If you’re looking for fun, it might not be the best choice, but for practicality, it’s hard to beat.

I use mine for bikes, skis, dogs, and garden supplies. It’s very versatile.

I love my Maverick. It’s perfect for light truck duties and gets great gas mileage. If you’re planning serious off-roading, you might want to look at the Ranger, though.

For your situation, I’d get the hybrid XL. It’s small, efficient, and perfect for your needs. The Ranger is less comfortable and more expensive.

Yes! It’s a joy to have and incredibly practical. You won’t regret it.

It will be perfect. Go with the XL hybrid.

Yes, unless you’re like me—then it’s been bad luck. But most people love theirs.

It’s my fourth vehicle over 25 years, and I think it’s fantastic! Go for the XL hybrid.

Honestly, for bikes, I’d recommend a midsize truck instead.

You’re telling me you were able to drive an F150 comfortably while learning to drive?

Okay, well, good for you. No need to laugh at me.

@Kelly
Ignore them. Also, it’s worth asking if they were driving a 1990s F150 (relatively small) or a modern one, which is massive.

Yeah, I drove a rented brand-new F150. It felt like I was about to hit every curb and pole.
