Hi everyone. I wanted to see if anyone else has experienced something strange with their Maverick. I got my 2024 Lariat Hybrid back in June, and I have noticed that when it’s locked, it sometimes sounds like it is locking again when I’m within a certain range. We went camping last week, and I could hear it clicking almost like it was double-checking that it was locked. ALL NIGHT. It was really loud in such a quiet campground.
It is just scratching at the door, eager to go for a ride. It saw you grab your keys and put on your shoes.
My Eco also does it. Probably not as much as a hybrid, but every now and again when I go outside to the garage, it seems to be doing something. I choose to ignore it because others have been telling me it’s typical and relays.
I agree, the clicking, beeping, and automatic lights can be really annoying while camping.
I was considering getting one of those roof-and-bed tents too, but I definitely don’t want to deal with that clicking all night.
The hybrid is just acting in a hybrid manner. The first hour after parking is when my 23 XLT does it the most.
Mine does that too. Even if my key is inside, it starts making that clunking noise if I’m in the yard or driveway, usually within about 15 feet.
My ancient Prius performs the same thing, so it’s likely that hybrids have a lot more electronic activity. It will make clicking sounds or other noises while it is parked and sitting for a time.
It is merely trying to get a ride by scratching at the door. It witnessed you putting on your shoes and grabbing your keys.
Mine does that all day long, every time somebody goes near it.
