Had an incident today, and let’s just say it wasn’t pretty. Here’s what’s left of my truck.
Oh no, glad you’re okay though.

Physically, yeah. But man, it hurts seeing my truck like this.

Sorry to hear about it. Maybe this means you’ll get an early retirement on that truck.
@Teal
You know what? My back is starting to hurt just thinking about it.

I hit a deer last week in the same truck. Feeling your pain.
That really sucks! Hope they don’t total it, but you might not be so lucky.

Waited 8 months for it to be built. It’s a Lariat Tremor, loaded up for my business… fingers crossed.
Glad you’re alright! Got a dash cam by chance?

Thanks. No dash cam yet, but that’s on my list now for sure.
You need the legal team Dewey, Cheatham & Howe!

Pretty sure that’s a Three Stooges joke originally.

Actually, it’s also from Car Talk, the old radio show. They’d give car and relationship advice with a lot of laughs.

Oh, I didn’t get the joke. Thought it might’ve been an ad.

Haha, no worries! It’s just a joke.
@Bailey
Got it now! Thanks for explaining.
Had something similar happen to me. Replaced the axle for $3500, plus got $3500 for diminished value and $600 for lost use. Go after what you’re owed!

We’re in a no-fault state, so I filed through my insurance. They’re pushing the other driver’s insurance to cover it. I use the truck for work—how do I prove lost use?
@Zadie
Document what it would cost to rent a replacement truck for the time yours is in the shop. Even if you don’t rent one, they should still pay under the collateral source rule.
