My 2024 Maverick got dinged up and I have a 2025 coming next month. Should I bother with repairs? Do you think it’ll get totaled because parts are still hard to come by?
Fix it and sell it, go through insurance.
I just had $12k in repairs done to my ‘24. Took about three weeks. No issues with parts.
What parts did you need?
Tailgate, bumpers, taillight, headlight, fender, and some other bits.
Yeah, mine was about three weeks too. Similar accident but not as bad. Caught the front fender, both doors, and rear fender. Took about four weeks last year. If you want a good paint match, go to the best body shop around.
Wait, you’re going to be on your THIRD Maverick?!
Yep!
Edit: Why the downvotes? Just answering the question. Is it because I can afford 3 Mavericks? (Not the case.) Or you think I wrecked them all? (Also not the case.)
Why so many? I usually keep my cars for 7-10 years.
First one was totaled, this one’s the replacement. The third is because I want the AWD hybrid. I had my last car for 11 years before I got the truck. Didn’t really need to replace it, but I wanted something with good gas mileage.
This forum just likes to downvote for no reason sometimes.
Because y’all are jealous I can afford 3 Mavericks?
Nope, not jealous that your insurance bought you two of them lol.
Exactly, kinda odd to say you can ‘afford’ 3 Mavericks when insurance bought you two and you’re selling one to pay for the third.
Option 4: Write it off right before your new car arrives!
But seriously, get it fixed through insurance. It won’t be worth as much, but it’ll still be worth more fixed than dinged up. Plus, they’ll lowball you on damages.
It’s probably not a total loss. I’d have the insurance company fix it.
Take the check and don’t fix it… house party time!
Go through insurance since you’re going to sell it, but what happened?
I was driving straight, and a lady made a right turn into the lane next to me, then moved left and hit me.
This is one of the best trucks for people in the city, especially with the hybrid option. It’s rare that a truck can fit in a 2-car garage with a sedan and still have space for a small workshop. I’d buy two if I could!
