I have always wanted a truck but the price has been a dealbreaker for me, along with fuel economy concerns. The Ford Maverick seems like the perfect solution, and I’m very close to convincing myself to get one.
I’ve watched reviews and most people seem to love it, but I’ve also read about some of the recalls. I understand that new models can have issues, so I’m looking for feedback from actual owners who have driven it for a while. What do you like about it? What don’t you like? Have you encountered any issues that might make you reconsider buying another one?
2022 XLT Hybrid owner. Pros: Excellent fuel economy (50+ MPG city), decent towing capacity, and a manageable size for parking. Cons: Early recalls were frustrating, and there are minor interior rattles. Overall, very happy with it.
2022 XLT AWD owner here. Love the power of the 2.0 Ecoboost and the utility for home improvement projects. Fuel economy is great (30+ MPG highway). Cons: Spartan interior and occasional infotainment bugs.
Had a 2022 Maverick Hybrid and loved it—solid MPG, handled well, and perfect for daily tasks. Unfortunately, mine was stolen while in for service, but I’d buy another in a heartbeat.
It’s great for lighter loads, but if you need serious towing capacity or rugged off-road capability, you might want to look at a Ranger. Otherwise, the Maverick is perfect for suburban utility.
