Hey everyone, I used to own a big truck but recently switched to a 2024 XLT Hybrid, which should be delivered next week. I know a bit about bed covers, but I’m looking for your thoughts. I want a hard cover, so if anyone has any recommendations from their own experience, I’d appreciate it! Thanks a lot!
Looks like you just left the big truck world, welcome to the new ride!

You’re totally right about that!
I went with the Ford hard tri-fold cover. It was pretty easy to install, only took about 20 minutes, most of which was just unpacking the parts. It was a bit pricier than others, but with the Ford rewards points and the regular 20% off sales on Ford parts, I ended up getting it for around $800.
@Jules
And water doesn’t get in, right?
Just ordered the RetraxPro MX. It’s $1000 cheaper right now than the highest price I saw on Amazon.

I really like my Softopper - https://youtu.be/e9ZcN_BGBJk

I actually saw your video when I was researching this weeks ago!

Glad it helped! I like how easy it is to fold down too. So far, it’s been great.
@Lennon
I almost went with that setup along with a tonneau and cap. They make bed rails that fit with it as well, so it could be a perfect setup for me. I might switch to it eventually, especially since I like the idea of a cap for keeping stuff dry.
My nephew got a Maverick a few weeks after I got mine. He doesn’t know it yet, but I’ll probably talk him into buying my Flowkottu Retractable next spring so I can get the Softopper.
@Brooke
I never considered this option, but I love the roller concept. It looks great too!

I really like that it has t-slot rails to add a bed rack. I’m planning to get the Tuwa Shiprock bed rack and mount a rooftop tent. The Tuwa fits perfectly with this cover, which is awesome. Retractable covers seem way more convenient than tri-fold or roll-up covers with bedrails.
@Brooke
Cool, I’m in WA too. Haven’t got the truck yet, but I’m planning to and looking at covers.
@Brooke
Did it require drilling for the drain tubes?
@Brooke
Ah, interesting. I just noticed mine has rubber plugs over the holes. I’ve only had it a week so still figuring things out. Thanks for the pictures!
