Is it a game-changer for small trucks or just another option in a crowded market? Would love to hear your thoughts.
I saw one driving around town. Feels like it’s made for people who say they don’t need a truck but secretly want one anyway.
Honestly, it’s probably all the truck most people need if they’re using it as a daily driver.
I don’t see much reason for the Ranger anymore. You can get a full-size truck for a little more money with similar MPG, or save cash and get way better mileage with the Maverick—if you can actually find one in stock.
Exactly. Most people overestimate how much truck they actually need.
I’ll get one when they offer leather and RWD. Hoping for a Maverick ST someday.
It kind of reminds me of the old Rangers. Those are still everywhere, so if they price it right, this could sell just as well.
Yeah, but it seems like demand is already through the roof. Prices might end up higher than expected.
It’s perfect for people who only need an SUV with a truck bed. Most folks don’t use the full towing or payload capacity of a bigger truck anyway. I’d only consider it if they made a hybrid AWD version, but it’s a solid choice.
I saw a comment here earlier that made no sense. What was that about?
No clue what they were trying to say. It didn’t even seem relevant.
It’s like they were just trying to be edgy or controversial for no reason.
I still don’t see what any of that had to do with the topic. Anyway, back to the Maverick…
I saw one at a gas station. Compared to my F150, it looked like a toy.
Why do people think a pickup has to be huge to count as a truck? The definition is literally a small truck with an enclosed cab and an open bed. The Maverick fits that perfectly. Just because it’s not massive doesn’t mean it’s not a truck.
I think you might need to chill for a bit. Trucks come in all sizes.
If I had to pick, I’d go with a Hyundai Santa Cruz. But honestly, most people in this segment probably end up with a Honda Ridgeline. I don’t think the Maverick will sell well for Ford.
It’s already doing great. The 2022 models are sold out, and you can’t even order another until summer.
That’s just because it’s new and inventory is tight everywhere. Let’s see how it’s doing in two years.
I disagree. If they keep it affordable, it’ll keep selling. The price is what’s pulling people in. New trucks are way too expensive.
Gas prices aren’t dropping anytime soon. A lot of people will realize they don’t need a massive truck for daily use and basic hauling.
