I’ve currently got a ‘23 F150 SCAB with a 6.5’ bed (my second F150, first was a ‘20 with an 8’ bed). While the '23 is shorter, it’s definitely wider. Honestly, I’m in that big group of truck owners who don’t really need a truck.
For anyone who switched from an F150 (or even a Ram or Silverado) to a Maverick, have you had any regrets? Is there a feature you really miss?
I searched around for posts about ‘regret’ but didn’t find a lot of ‘why did I buy this’ comments.
Only time I missed having a full-size was when I needed more room for lumber. But with all the gas money I saved, I bought a trailer, so now it’s not an issue.

You mean like a 5x8 utility trailer? That makes sense.
Had all sorts of trucks over the years—big, small, and mid-size, plus a GMC Yukon and a Corvette. Now I have a '21 Ranger, which is close in size to the Maverick. If towing is a must, the Ranger would be better, but the Maverick is unbeatable in MPG, especially in the hybrid. Just depends on what fits your lifestyle best.

A full-size truck wouldn’t fit in my garage either. Rangers and Tacomas fit nicely, and so would the Maverick with extra space to spare.
Funny about the Corvette—Chevy even made commercials poking fun at how young guys in Cobalts always try to race Corvettes. Happened to me all the time too!
My only regret with the Maverick is the unibody construction. Makes it less durable and the FWD model doesn’t handle as well. AWD feels way different, though.
I don’t technically need a truck, so the Maverick works well. But yeah, if anything happens to the bed, it affects the cab too since they’re connected. Wish they’d separated them. Overall, I’d prefer a Tacoma, but the Maverick fits my budget.

Thanks for the heads-up on FWD vs. AWD. I was planning to look at the AWD Lariat.
Checked out a Frontier and Tundra, too. Frontier was only a bit cheaper than my F150’s sticker price.
Yeah, FWD feels more car-like, while AWD puts power to the back wheels from a stop, so it feels more like a traditional truck. Everything’s pricier these days, so I get why you’re shopping around.
I really like my XLT AWD, but I worry about damage. A tree fell on my first one, and it was totaled.

Yukon was my winter daily and for summer camping/off-roading. Loved the space, but 15 MPG got old fast. Did an LS3 swap with friends on my E30 BMW because I wanted something wild.
