I finally traded in my old truck yesterday and got 45 mpg on my first drive to work this morning. The difference is incredible. Anyone else make the switch recently?
Same here! The money I’m saving on gas is covering almost half of my monthly payment. I’ve started hypermiling every time I drive because I love watching that MPG number go up.
Man, going from 14.5 mpg to 45 was such a huge shock! I almost needed to pull over and change my clothes.
Haha, same here! We used to get around 14 mpg in the city and had to fill up once a week. Now it’s more like once a month!
I can’t wait for a plug-in version of this truck! Not paying for gas at all sounds like heaven, but 45 mpg is still amazing.
Don’t even mention a plug-in hybrid Maverick! There’s always someone who gets all worked up about it and starts sending angry DMs.
Haha, I’m actually looking forward to that message!
Honestly, sounds like someone with issues… probably some dude in his 40s still living in his mom’s basement.
Seriously though, electric vehicles are great for more than just environmental reasons. You get better torque, less maintenance, cheaper fuel, and you can charge it at home. It’s not for everyone, but it has a lot of benefits.
He probably can’t back up his arguments anyway. Though I’ll admit, the F-150 Lightning’s range is pretty disappointing for the size of its battery.
Totally, the Lightning’s range isn’t great. I’d go for a Silverado EV or a Rivian instead.
I really hope by the time my current truck wears out, I can get a Maverick EV.
Same here! A small electric pickup would be perfect.
I keep hearing about companies working on small EV pickups (Scout, for example), but I bet we’ll see a Maverick EV before those hit the market.
The only thing that could make my Maverick better would be if it were a plug-in hybrid. My wife’s car is electric and we’ve got a charger at home, plus free charging where I work. It’d be a dream!
Same here, the numbers just made sense!
Welcome to the cactus crew!
My truck looks almost the same. I’ve got the XL hybrid in cactus gray, added a spray-in bedliner and trailer hitch, plus a few extras like a soft rollup cover, tie-downs, and a dashcam. The problem is… I’ve fallen in love with trucks too much now, and I kinda want an F-150, even though I know it’s not the smartest financial move.
