Which model did you go for?
I went with the XL hybrid, basic as it gets other than the hybrid engine. I checked out the XLT and Lariat but just didn’t think the extras were worth the extra money. With so much aftermarket stuff available, I’ve already found solutions for most of the things I wanted except heated seats, but I’m not too worried about that with the remote start option. Plus, I love the color.
I’ve got the same model. I was thinking of swapping the wheels right away, but the stock ones just grew on me. They suit the truck perfectly.
Right? The steel rims just fit the vibe of this truck. It’s meant to be a cheap, do-it-all kind of vehicle, and the steelies look great on it.
Same here, I’ve got the same color with the steelies and I love them. People always tell me to swap them, but they just don’t get it!
There’s something about them that I can’t explain, but they just feel right.
Will I eventually upgrade? Maybe. But right now, I’m loving the truck and the MPG!
I’ve got the base model too, and I laughed when someone told me it looks like I’m driving around with five spare tires. But honestly, I’m keeping them because they do the job and the fuel economy is too good to mess with.
Yep, driving around quietly in the city with that electric motor doing its thing… can’t beat that!
Do they sell those at the dealership?
I bought an XLT and I honestly regret spending the extra money.
Exactly! The interior is all plastic no matter which one you get, so paying more for features didn’t make sense to me. I didn’t get the CoPilot 360 either because those alerts just get annoying.
I’m driving a Prius now, but this truck is top of my list to replace it once my wife’s car is paid off next year. I even dreamed I bought one, but my wife told me to keep dreaming when I mentioned it.
You just gotta go for it! I made a whole PowerPoint presentation to convince my wife. I highlighted how much fuel we’d save compared to my Mustang that gets like 16 MPG on the highway. You’ll be joining the Maverick club soon, I bet.
Yeah, but I’ll have to go for the Lariat to keep her comfortable as the passenger princess. She’s pushing for something smaller, like a Mazda CX-30, with all the luxury features.
Might as well get the Lariat then—best of both worlds for both of you!
I was laughing on my drive home when the ‘miles to empty’ number kept going up instead of down!
This will probably end up being the best vehicle you’ve ever owned.
I’ve been treating my Maverick like a princess. I used to drive my Honda hard because every second idling meant wasted gas, but now with the hybrid, I can just cruise and relax, especially in city traffic. Such a huge upgrade, and it’s nice knowing it’s not all gas!
